Privacy Policy for LWR Netflix Extension

Thank you for using the LWR Netflix Extension. This privacy policy explains what information the extension handles and why.

1. Information We Collect and Handle

Our primary goal is to provide a language-learning service, not to collect your personal data. The extension handles two types of information:

Authentication Token (API Key): After you log in through the extension's options page, an authentication token (API key) is saved on your computer using the browser's secure local storage (`chrome.storage.local`). This token is sent with each translation request to verify that you are a legitimate user of our service. We do not store any personally identifiable information with this token.
Subtitle Text for Translation: When you click on a word or a sentence within the Netflix subtitles, that specific text is sent securely over HTTPS to our server at `languageswithrick.com` to get a translation. This text is used solely to provide the translation service and is not stored, logged, or associated with your account on our servers.

The Authentication Token is used only to authenticate your requests to our translation API.
The Subtitle Text is used only to generate and return a translation to you in real-time.

We want to be crystal clear about what we don't do. The LWR Netflix Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Your name, email address, or other personal information.
Your Netflix viewing history or browsing activity.
Any information from your computer other than the specific text you ask to be translated.

All communication between the extension and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS to protect the information in transit.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
